This impressive waterfall consists of 3 exits about 40 meters high from where water falls into a beautiful natural pool below. The journey to the waterfall is just over two kilometers and can be done on foot in approximately 30 minutes. Along the way, you can appreciate the exuberant tropical vegetation and enjoy the coconut, cocoa and other fruit trees that are found at every step. Once you reach the waterfall, you can take a refreshing swim in its cool waters as a reward for your efforts.

Samana also has a rich cultural heritage that is worth exploring. Visit the towns of Sanchez and Las Galeras to experience local culture and taste delicious Dominican cuisine.

The best time to visit Samana for good weather is March. On average, the warmest months are April to December.

The rainiest months are May, July, August, September and November.

The best months for swimming are January, April to December.

If you want to take the least weather risk, you should consider traveling to Samana from January to April. This recommendation coincides very well with the whale season off the coast: every year from January to the end of March hundreds of impressive humpback whales gather in the bay off Samana – an incredible spectacle.
